Your Credit |

There is no getting around it, a bankruptcy can, and will most likely, be reported on your credit history for up to 10 years. That does not mean, however, that you will not be able to get credit. In fact, you'll most likely be able to get credit shortly after you receive a discharge. The rates will not be as attractive as you once had, but you can begin to rebuild your credit score and bring down the rates. Often times, your credit score will be higher 18 months after you receive your discharge, then what it was before you filed. Additionally, because your credit score is related to your payment history, in the long run, it may be beneficial to begin starting your new credit history right away rather then putting it off and risk default. As a client, we have the availability and resources to show you not only what your current credit score is now, but we can also show you a calculated estimate of what it will be after you file your Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy petition.
