Pursuant to The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA), all debtors filing for bankruptcy must complete a pre-filing Credit Counseling Program prior to the filing of the petition and a pre-discharge Debtor’s Education Class before they receive their discharge.  The pre-filing class must be completed within 180 days prior to the filing of the petition, and the pre-discharge class must be completed within 60 days after the 341 Meeting of Creditors.

There are numerous places where this class can be taken, either in person, over the phone or online.  These agencies can be discovered and compared by performing a google search for "bankruptcy education class."
