"After spending the last year trying to keep up with my credit cards, I finally decided to bite the bullet and talk to a lawyer about bankruptcy. At the beginning of the year I asked some of my lawyer friends if they knew anyone who could wipe out my debt...at a price I could actually afford. One of them mentioned Mark's firm so I decided to check him out. I didn't really know anything about bankruptcy, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. When I met with him, he explained all about the different chapters of bankruptcy and said Chapter 7 would be perfect for me. We talked about what was going to happened if/when I filed and what I should expect. I also appreciated that he listened to my concerns about credit ratings and apartments and the like. He said it would be a "fresh start" which I think is totally on point. Then came the ever-important question of cost. I had done a little research of my own to see what kind of prices I should be expecting. His fee was lower than I expected and what other attorneys are charging. After I decided to file, I went back to his office to sign everything. Its in the financial district, so it was easy to get to.
